My name is Kerry and I qualified as a Speech and Language therapist in 2019
I have experience of working with children and adults who have difficulties with their communication such as dysarthria, aphasia or cognitive difficulties. I also have experience with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).
My specialist area is communication changes following stroke or brain injury. I also offer support in computer-based therapy and alternative & augmentative communication strategies.
Outside of work I live in Plymouth with my husband, 2 children and our chocolate collie, Tia. We love the sea and can often be found on or in Plymouth Sound!
Who we work with:
I can provide speech and language therapy for adults and children with a range of abilities and difficulties. I have experience of working with adults and children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties which include:
- Expressive and receptive language problems
- Speech sound problems
- Communication problems
- Eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties
- Language delay and impairment
- Social communication problems
My Qualifications:
- BSc Speech & Language Therapy from Plymouth Marjon University
I hold the following Professional Memberships:
- Member of the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC)
- Member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT)
I have a Full Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check which is updated annually.
I have had a range of experiences where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse caseloads which include people with conditions such as; dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, Parkinson’s, autism spectrum condition, global developmental delay, developmental verbal dyspraxia, language disorders, Down’s Syndrome and a range of learning disabilities.
At Ocean City Speech and Language therapy I can provide a variety of services in a variety of settings including the home, educational environments or via teletherapy. All therapy sessions will be tailored to the individual.
